The aim of the Energy specialization is to train senior executives in the disciplines of energy, fluid mechanics, combustion, energetics, optical metrology and laser diagnostics, and process optimization, including as developers and users of diagnostics and instrumentation involved in the physical analysis of the characteristic quantities of these media. The course is built on research strengths and industrial demand in the fields of energy, reactive and two-phase fluids, optical metrology and processes. The courses in the specialization are structured around the three major areas of focus that are essential for improving efficiency and reducing energy costs, as well as the associated drawbacks (valorization and management of existing resources, new energy concepts and development of instrumentation).

The professional and research tracks are developed in a complementary way, to meet the requirements of understanding physical mechanisms and their practical applications. Students trained in this way are able to transfer the most advanced technologies to the corporate world. The discovery and use of experimental and simulation resources are an important part of the training program.
